Tradesmen (Venezia 283)

Visitors to Venice will encounter a number of different occupations; hoteliers, bar staff, retailers, waiters, transport staff, tourist guides and more.  They are the front of house, but as I preach in my training courses you cannot provide great service to the paying customer, unless supported by great service behind the scenes.

Whenever I’ve had building work done, the materials have usually been delivered in a large truck, lifted off by crane, and left on my drive or garden ready for the builders to do the job.  Bit tricky to do that when there are no streets, drives, and very few gardens, so it seems the solution is for the builders to bring it themselves.  And unload it all.  By hand.
