In a corner of the Campo Santa Maria Formosa, just a stone’s throw from the opulence of the Ruzzini* Palace Hotel is a much smaller three story building.

Passing it at street level, you would see typical stucco walls whose burgundy red render has been worn away in many places to reveal the grey plaster beneath.  It’s all a bit of a mess, but in that charming Italian lived-in way.

Raise your eyes to the floor above and the colour is a softer, dusty pink.  Less worn but stained and watermarked.

Go up to the top floor and then you receive your reward…

*apologies that this was autocorrected to Razzing originally!!!
