I thought the the penis shaped pasta was tacky enough, but this stall on the Riva degli Schiavoni seemed to be providing solid competition in plumbing the depths of tastelessness. I wouldn’t care, but the statue concerned isn’t even in Venice! Both the replica (outside Palazzo Vecchio) and the original (now in the Galleria dell’Accademia) are in Firenze (Florence).
I’m not entirely convinced by the woman’s studious examination of that tiny carnival mask either!
