If you don’t have access to a wide-angle lens to shoot the large spaces in yesterday’s Ely Cathedral post don’t despair, for once you have your breath back from marvelling at the soaring lines of beams and arches that draw your eye to the painted roof panels you begin to notice the details. There is exquisite craftsmanship and artwork wherever you turn.
Above your head are sumptuous curves and webs of intricate masonry.
Below your feet lie colourful ceramics and well-worn brass.
And in between is a cornucopia of art and design.
So much to gaze upon.
